THE NEW ALBUM (by Helen)
I am currently working on a new love songs album, mostly self-penned. There will be two surprise 'cover-versions' on the album, one is a Shania Twain song and the other a totally revamped version of an Olivia Newton John song, whom I was influenced by as a teenager! (She still imagines herself (poor thing) wearing skin-tight pink satin trousers like ONJ wore in the song!! – Doug)
The album title is yet to be finalised, but at the moment I am calling it 'Just Keep Dreaming' after one of the songs.
The music to the final track is currently being recorded. There is a little way to go yet before things are complete, but we think it will be worth the wait – what’s another year! (no just kidding!)
This album is not a CCM record like 'Safe' (my debut album produced in Nashville). 'Safe' will always be special to me and to a lot of people and I’m not saying I won’t ever do another 'Safe', but this project is completely different. It’s an album of love songs which I decided I wanted to record some time ago. Some of the songs are personal and I hope they will have a big impact on the people who hear them. Everyone can relate to falling in love, or having a heartbreak at some point in their lives, and all the emotions that go with it.
The Producer
The album is largely produced by Chris Winter, a talented producer and songwriter based in Gloucester. Incidentally, his song 'No Dream Impossible' won 'Song for Europe' and will now represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. Well done, Chris!
