Q. What‘s the best advice you were given when you started out?

A letter which I received from a well-respected person in the Entertainment business:

"I am sure I don't need to tell you that it is a really tough world out there, and this is particularly true of the music business. The music world is probably more seductive and manipulative than almost any other area of the arts and media. They will promise you the moon but it is quite healthy to believe nothing until the contract is made legal and signed. I know of so many people who have got very excited about dreams and promises, only to find the rejection slip is most often what they actually receive."

Q. What do you think of Eminem?

To be honest I haven't paid much attention to him and don't really know that much about him. But come to think of it, I was watching a chart video show on Sky TV the other week and I must say I did find the story behind 'Stan' very clever and quite thought provoking. I thought that situation could quite possibly happen in real life…maybe already has ( I hope it never happens to me).

Q. Do you watch any chart shows on TV?

Yes I do from time to time on Sky and if I get behind on what's current and what's happening, my sister lets me know!! She’s more interested in music chart shows than I am.

Q. What's the best advice anyone has ever given you?

The best advice I’ve ever been given in my whole life is a verse from the Bible that my dear Nanna used to quote to me constantly when she was alive: 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me' (She used to say there was no such word as can't!)

Q. Would you consider any body piercing? …say your belly button?

Is this a wind-up?! Definitely not! Maybe I would have my belly button done if I was an 18 year old, but to be honest I’m even too nervous to have my ears pierced! I have hundreds of 'clip-on' earrings!

Q. Who do you admire musically? Female/ Male/ Bands?

At the moment I have respect, musically, for a lot of people, and off the top of my head here are a few:
Female artists:
Madonna, Shania Twain, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Mary,Mary, ('Shackles' gives me a 'high'!) Amy Grant, Olivia Newton-John and Dido is quite fresh.
Male artists I like are:
Craig David, Russell Watson, (my first contemporary Opera album!) Chris Rodriguez (CCM)
Bands/duos:
The Back Street Boys, S Club 7, Out of the Grey (American duo, CCM)
Worship album:
'Overwhelmed' (Hillsongs Australia)

Q. The Pop Stars ’Hear’Say’ have just had the fastest selling UK single of all time with ’Pure and Simple’ – what do you think about their success?

It depends on your definition of 'success' really doesn’t it? Maybe you’re asking the wrong person. I think it's great to be successful in life on planet earth, but no one is a 'Popstar' forever. I think they have been the 'luckiest' band of all time to have had such massive support . Undoubtedly they've worked very hard, and they are talented, but you have to ask if they would have reached the position they are in today without their huge financial backing and the popular TV programme 'PopStars'. I must say though, I think Noel is rather cute! What is a 'Popstar' anyway ? 'Hear’Say' - here today.…gone tomorrow? Hope I see them in heaven one day.
